Kahn: Bayern Munich's 37-year-old captain Oliver Kahn said yesterday he had no intention of sharing his goalkeeping duties next season with his talented young back-up Michael Rensing. "Michael is obviously a great talent," Kahn said. "His time will come... "But I've got a contract until 2008 and as long as I'm able to deliver above-average performances consistently, I don't think there's room for discussion (about job rotation) just because a few younger keepers are doing well at other clubs."

Baros: Olympique Lyon striker Milan Baros maintained his innocence yesterday after being accused of abusing Stade Rennes player Stephane M'Bia with a racist gesture in a Ligue 1 match on Wednesday. French TV showed the former Liverpool striker pinching his nose and waving his hand at M'Bia as if he was repelling an offensive odour. Cameroon-born M'Bia said at the end of the game he had been "deeply hurt by the gesture."

Maradona: Diego Maradona, who is in the hospital being treated for alcoholic hepatitis, will be moved next week to a psychiatric clinic for alcohol abuse treatment, his doctor said yesterday. The 46-year-old soccer great who led Argentina to the 1986 World Cup championship has been in the hospital for most of the last three weeks with ailments linked to excessive drinking.

In Spain: King's Cup semi-final first leg - Deportivo La Coruna vs Sevilla 0-3.

International Friendly: Argentina vs Chile 0-0.

Basketball: Peugeot League - Hibs Medsea vs Loyola 51-39; Kerygma vs Sliema Wanderers 40-32.

Paul Hartley: Celtic midfielder Paul Hartley is anxious to play in his side's last five Scottish Premier League matches this season to make himself eligible for a winners' medal. Victory on Sunday at Kilmarnock will secure a 41st title for Celtic but Hartley, who joined from Hearts at the end of January, has only featured in five league games. "It means everything to me. At the start of the season I didn't imagine I would be at Celtic and going to pick up a league winner's medal... if I play in the next five games."
