The Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST) has launched a website at www.mcst. gov.mt to support the new Research and Innovation Strategy.

The website specifies how the MCST is planning to achieve its goals while providing information on the structure and role of the agency. It offers information on the national calls for funding opportunities, past and future events, publications as well as carrying articles concerning research and innovation in Malta.

It also links Malta's research community to the EU's Seventh Framework Programme FP7 - the EU's funding instrument for research and development. The FP7 pages offer insights into the workings of the programme, give advice on how to apply for the open calls and provide access to the search facility.

The site will eventually incorporate a children's corner with games and scientific facts that link textbook science to everyday occurrences, such as science in the kitchen.
