Din l-Art Helwa will hold its annual Spring Fete at the Msida Bastion Garden of Rest on Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The fete offers the public an occasion to admire the garden in full bloom and enjoy its tranquil location nestling within the heart of the 17th century bastions overlooking Marsamxett. Funds raised from the event will be dedicated to the garden's maintenance.

The garden has exotic and indigenous plants and trees and is set among early 19th-century neo-classical monuments xommemorating important personalities who died in Malta during the early British period, between 1803 and 1857.

Din l-Art Helwa won the 2001 Silver Medal from Europa Nostra for its work of restoration on this site. Tours of the garden will be held on Sunday at 1 and 2 p.m.

Fund-raising stalls will be set up in the garden, selling plants, books, gifts, cakes and other items.

Refreshments will be available on the terraces. The Garden of Rest is best reached by taking the first turning left on Great Siege Road near the Phoenicia Hotel, then left again past the public library below Beltissebh.
