Appeal to Swieqi council

Has anyone considered the hardship and waste of time, not to say fuel consumption, that the residents of Triq Il-Hawt/Triq Il-Molletta and streets around this area endure to get home?
Of course one would say you can come in from Triq is-Swieqi (the main road of Swieqi). But surely everybody knows the chaos that develops every Friday/Saturday/Sunday to come in from there. The amount of time standing or waiting to pass through the endless number of cars for no reason is a penalty for the residents of this area (formerly known as Upper Gardens).
Originally one could enter Swieqi even from Triq il-Qasam and then through various side streets but now whichever way you do it you have to go through the main Triq is-Swieqi, creating all the heavy traffic congestion in this street and in the other streets used to arrive at this junction, namely the street that comes after the Corner Self-service Supermarket (Triq l-Imghazel) and others. Here extensive building work is going on with cranes, trucks etc. parked all over these streets. Often even here one goes through only to reverse because of cars parked on either side and the danger posed by cranes.
Who is going to be responsible for accidents that may occur in these streets? Of course the residents of Triq is-Sidra are happy - but has the Swieqi council considered all their other residents in the other streets?
Even if one comes through the valley via San Gwann into Swieqi again, we have to eventually go through Triq is-Swieqi to get home.
I appeal to the Swieqi council to look into this matter very urgently. After all, all residents are equal. The council needs to find a solution which will be beneficial to us all.
I hope this appeal will not fall on deaf ears or just filed in the archives.
