Church attendance will be the main theme of this year's Benjamin Tonna Lecture held by Discern, the Institute for Research on the Signs of the Times.

Robin Gill, a sociologist and theologian with 35 years experience and who is the Michael Ramsey Professor of Modern Theology at the University of Kent, in Canterbury, will be sharing his thoughts on Falling Church Attendance: Has Anything Gone Wrong?

Prof. Gill has published a number of books on the decline in church attendance in the UK, such as The Myth Of The Empty Church, Churchgoing And Christian Ethics and The "Empty" Church Revisited.

His lecture will analyse the state of the Church in the world today.

Discern takes the Sunday Mass attendance census in Malta.

The lecture will be held at the Le Meridien Phoenicia, Floriana on April 26 at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
