Toto Cutugno, Alessandro Canino, and British group Katrina and the Waves, will be performing at the Labour Party's May 1 Workers' Day concert in Valletta.

The two Italian singers have both taken part in the San Remo festival, while the British band won the Eurovision Song Contest with Love shine a light.

Local artists, including Scar and Winter Moods, will also be taking part in the festival. Labour deputy leader Michael Falzon said the activities showed that the party is alive and dynamic. He said next week its programme of activities leading up to May 1 would kick off with party officials meeting a large number of workers from different sectors.
