• The traditional fair known at L-Ghadira ta' San Raflu, with activities for all the family, is being held at Kercem today. Transport leaves Savina Square, Victoria, every hour on the hour between noon and 6 p.m.

• Fontana parish is celebrating the feast of Divine Mercy today, starting with adoration at 2.30 p.m., followed by prayers and Rosary at 3.30. At 4.30, Fr George Bezzina will lead a concelebrated Mass, with the participation of the Chorus Urbanus. A procession with the statue of the Risen Christ, with the participation of La Stella Band, will be held at 5.30 p.m.

• The Queen is showing at Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 6 p.m.

• The Astronomical Society of Malta is holding a lecture on "CCD Imaging - Capturing the Universe" by Joseph Caruana, at the Ministry for Gozo, on Friday at 6.30 p.m. Those attending will learn about the equipment and methods employed in astro-photographic work. Maltese astronomers are using versatile charged coupled device (CCD) cameras to capture images of celestial objects, among them Mr Caruana, who is from Ghajnsielem (http://cosmology.awardspace.com).

• Victoria council is organising a cultural weekend break from Friday to Sunday with visits to Rabat and Mdina. The subsidised fee of Lm25 includes accommodation at the Alexandra Palace Hotel, Paceville. • A coffee morning in aid of the Guatemala Missions is being held at the Crystal Palace, Marsalforn, on Thursday at 9 a.m. For tickets contact Ms A. Grech on 2155-6509.

• A cultural tour organised by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts will be visiting the Ta' Sopu and Kenuna towers in Nadur on Sunday. The tour will also visit the Gozo Maritime Museum, the Augustinian convent and church in Victoria, the Gozo Cathedral museum at the Citadel and the Belgian chocolate factory. Lunch is included.

Transport leaves Floriana (near the Independence monument) and Sliema (from opposite the Nazarene church) at 7.30 a.m. for departure with the Gozo ferry from Cirkewwa at 9. Departure from Gozo is at 6 p.m. Tickets at Lm9 (adults) and Lm8 (senior citizens and children), excluding ferry fare.
