The Foundation for Human Resources Development (FHRD), as part of its Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme for this year, is holding a course entitled "Getting things done through your people", focusing on the essentials of team work, communication and communication skills, making meetings effective, and evaluation, performance indicators and audit trails.

The objective of the course is to enable participants to develop people management skills.

The workshops will be interactive and will provide participants with the opportunity to practise their skills within a supported environment.

Jozie Devoy will conduct the course, which will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, April 24 and 25 and May 3, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., at FHRD, 1, Triq il-Kampanella, San Gwann.

The fee is Lm85 for members and Lm95 for non-members.

The FHRD, in partnership with the Institute of Health & Safety (IHS), is holding another course entitled "Understanding occupational health and safety legislation".

The course, to be held on April 24 and 25, between 5.30 and 8.30 p.m., at the FHRD premises in San Gwann, will cover principles of law, important H&S legislation, civil and criminal liability, enforcement, and European and international law, among others.

The objective of the course is to provide participants with a better knowledge of this legislation and to give an outline on employers' legal obligations and the role of the Occupational Health & Safety Authority.

Directors, owners, managers and supervisors, and anyone with responsibility for, or an interest in, health and safety at the workplace, is invited to attend. Dr Luigi Sansone, LL.D, will conduct the course.

Fee for members is Lm47 and Lm57 for non-members. Cheques should be made payable to the Institute of Health and Safety and sent to IHS, Martin Court, University Street, Msida.
