Obituary

BARTOLO. On April 7, at Charella Home, Sliema, MARY ANNE, aged 88, passed away peacefully. She leaves to mourn her loss her cousin Clare, other relatives and friends.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel, followed by interment at the same cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, carers and staff of Charella Home for the loving care they gave her.

Heritage Seminar

The projects of Hagar Qim and Mnajdra and the problems facing Valletta will be discussed at a public seminar being held at St James Cavalier, Valletta today at 9 a.m.

The first part of the seminar will be dedicated to Hagar Qim and Mnajdra and to the shelters and visitor's centre. Alex Torpiano, JoAnn Cassar and Reuben Grima will be among those speaking during the presentation.

Ray Bondin will then discuss whether Valletta is still a World Heritage City.

Annual Concert

The Vittoriosa St Lawrence Philharmonic Society will present its annual concert at Caraffa Stores, Vittoriosa tonight at 7.30.

The band, under the direction of Paul Schembri, will be performing works such as Prince Igor by Borodin, Ponchelli's Gioconda, Bernstein's West Side Story, Music from Gladiators by Zimmer, Cristiano's Rapsodia Napoletana and the best of Zucchero, among others.

Bay Street Show

Malcolm Pisani, who has just launched his new CD, Burnin, will be performing at the Bay Street Complex in St Julians tomorrow at 5.30 p.m. There will also be a number of supporting acts featuring the Teen Dancers, Star-2-B winner Lindsay Pace, Kimberly Mannicaro and the Konsaci Dancers.

Cooperation Talks

The Ambassador of Slovakia to Italy and Malta, Stanislav Vallo will be paying a visit to the Sliema Philharmonic Society tomorrow at 11 a.m. He will be discussing the prospects of collaboration, particularly the participation of musicians and other artistes from Slovakia in the second edition of the Sliema International Arts Festival.

Sacred Motets Recital

The Canterbury Cathedral Choir under the direction of David Flood will be presenting a recital of sacred motets, including Allegri's Miserere, today at 8 p.m. and tomorrow at 9 a.m. at St George's Basilica, Victoria, and on Monday at 7.30 p.m. at St Paul's Anglican Cathedral, Valletta. Entrance is free.

Prayer Meeting

A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and religious vocations will be held today at the Santa Lucija parish church. The meeting starts at 9.45 p.m. with Mass followed by adoration.

Parcel Office Move

The Maltapost Parcel Office will be transferred from Triq L-Iskultur, Qormi QRM 3580 to the Maltapost head office at 305, Triq Hal Qormi, Marsa MTP 1001, as from Monday. All parcel collection, including Customs clearance, and all courier services will be available at the refurbished premises at the Maltapost head office premises, Maltapost said.

Letters Of Credence

President Eddie Fenech Adami yesterday presented letters of credence to the newly-appointed Maltese Ambassador to Austria, Chris Grima. The ceremony took place at The Palace, Valletta.
