Archbishop Paul Cremona yesterday received a warm welcome from Bank of Valletta employees when he paid a visit to the bank's head office in Sta Venera.

The Archbishop had a short private meeting with the board of directors and chief officers during which chief executive Tonio Depasquale gave a short overview of the bank's involvement within the community. Mgr Cremona then celebrated Mass at the bank's centre foyer.

For the occasion, special permission was obtained to bring over to the centre from St Mary of Jesus church, in Valletta, the Ta' Giezu crucifix that was restored recently with the support of the bank.
