CAUCHI. On April 12, MARY, aged 91, widow of Gaetano, of Marsa, passed away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Joe, Charles, Mary Rose, Vincent, Sr Antoinette of the Dominican Order, Doris, Monica and Dione, their respective husbands and wives, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her brothers and sister, and their families, other relatives and friends as well as all the sisters, staff and residents at St Catherine's Home.
The funeral leaves St Catherine's Home today at 2.15 p.m. for St Mary's parish church, Attard, where Mass will be celebrated at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated.

FENECH. On April 12, MARIANNA, aged 82, widow of Paul, of Mosta, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Joseph husband of Joan, Nazzareno husband of Mary, Vivie, Jimmy widower of Rose, Charles, and Rita wife of Mario Amira, her grandchildren, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 7.45 a.m. for Mosta parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Mosta Cemetery.

GALEA. On April 11, at his place of work with Enemalta, CHARLIE, aged 56, of Marsa, residing at Safi, died tragically. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary, his children Joelyn, Gabriella and her fiancé Noel, his brothers and sisters, Spiru and his wife Vivienne, Joe, and Alice, his in-laws Carmen, Johnnie, Joe, Paul and Twanny and their families, other relatives and friends.

WHITWORTH. On April 12, at St Catherine's Home, Attard, Ethel, née Amato, aged 92, widow of Captain A. S. Whitworth DSC RN (RTD). She leaves to mourn her loss her children Alexander, David and Isabella and their respective partners, her sister Lilian and sister-in-law Erminia, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends, Sisters and carers at St Catherine's Home.
The funeral leaves St Catherine's Home tomorrow at 9.15 a.m. for the Nativity of Our Lady parish church, Naxxar where Mass will be celebrated at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery.

Gerontology Seminar

The Maltese Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics together with the European Centre of Gerontology, University of Malta, in collaboration with the Parliamentary Secretariat for the Elderly and Community Care, organised a half-day seminar on the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing 2002 at the Imperial Hotel, Sliema.

The plan calls for changes in attitudes, policies and practices in all sectors so as to realise the potential of ageing in the 21st century and that older persons should be perceived as a valuable resource in the service of society.
