The first certified scrum master training will be held in Malta on May 31 and June 1, led by Boris Gloger from Sprint-IT. This course is open to Maltese nationals and foreigners alike.

Scrum is an empirical way to manage software development projects. It allows fast and flexible changes to requirements while offering maximum transparency to the project owner. It makes obstacles visible both to the team and to the organisation.

Scrum is made up of an easy set of rules and ensures that every team member feels the responsibility of a project. The master guides the team to self-organise, optimising their work.

The concept was first mentioned in 1986 in The New Product Development Game (Harvard Business Review 86116:137-146, 1986) and is now used by Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, Cisco, Symantec, Federal Reserve Bank, BBC, Siemens, Nokia, Yahoo and other large companies.
