A yellow mould was yesterday placed on part of the Manwel Dimech bridge, on the Regional Road, so that concrete can be cast to reconstruct one of the viaducts.

The concrete is expected to be cast by the end of the month, according to a Roads Ministry spokesman. The Manwel Dimech bridge is being reconstructed at a cost of €6 million. The project is due to be completed by September.

Work includes the reconstruction of the two viaducts, the rehabilitation of the piers and abutment walls supporting the deck, the upgrading of the ancillary roads and the rehabilitation of the underlying valley.
