Following the article entitled Zurrieq Council Halts Bring-in Site Service (April 5), WasteServ Malta Ltd. would like to point out that though it was not involved in providing this service to the Zurrieq local council, it does not agree with the decision taken to close this bring-in site.

Measures could be adopted to educate, where necessary, the public in the proper use of these facilities.

The bring-in sites consist of four containers - blue for plastic, white for paper, brown for glass and black for metal. By separating waste, less goes into the engineered landfills and more recyclable material is made available. WasteServ is operating 370 bring-in sites in Malta and Gozo, including schools, for educational purposes.
