The spent oil with which vandals recently defaced the rocky beach near Wignacourt Tower in St Paul's Bay has been removed by beach cleaners from the Ministry of Tourism and the Oil Pollution Mobile Rescue.

The exercise was carried out with great attention not to damage the Roman bath remains on the site, the St Paul's Bay council said. The council said that several months ago, equipment at the bring-in sites nearby was thrown in to the sea.
