Artist Mark Sagona will be presenting a lecture entitled Emvin Cremona And The Rise Of Modern Sensibilities In Maltese Sacred Art at the Conference Hall of the Ministry for Gozo, St Francis Square, Victoria on Friday at 7 p.m.

The lecture is inspired by the ongoing restoration project sponsored by Bank of Valletta of the works by this artist for the Ta' Pinu Sanctuary, in Gozo. The lecture will discuss the works for the first time and will place them within the context of Mr Cremona's singular contribution to Maltese sacred art. Mr Cremona's paintings will also be discussed in the light of the rise of a modern approach to church decoration in the Maltese Islands. Admission to the lecture is free.
