The 18th annual edition of the Live Music Marathon organised by BJs and WOM (Wishing Others Well, the social arm of the Millennium Chapel) kicks off today at 5 p.m.

Olivia Lewis, Malta's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest, will be the first singer on stage.

The marathon, at BJs in Paceville, will continue round the clock for a week, closing in the early hours of Monday, April 16 after 155 hours. Promoter Philip Fenech said that at least 200 performers will be taking part .

The aim of the marathon is twofold, to raise funds for WOW and to promote live music.

Over the past 17 years over Lm100,000 have been raised for charity.
