An original play based on a number of literary sources entitled Shadows And Gods will be held at the theatre of St James Cavalier in Valletta between April 27 and 29 at 8 p.m.
Written and directed by Tyrone Grima, the play explores the possibility of integrating the shadow and the god within all of us.
Henri Pranzini, acted out by Keith Borg, is accused of a triple murder. On one night he killed his lover, her daughter and the household maid. He is condemned to the guillotine for his atrocious deed.
But Therese Martin, played by Mireille Mifsud, believes that in spite of his actions he is also a human being, a son of God. She feels the calling to pray incessantly for the salvation of his soul.
The other actors in the cast are Daniela Coppini, Carmel Serracino, Nadine Genovese, Sarah Camilleri, Dorianne Bonanno and newcomers Hayley Byrne and Francesca Borg Constanzi.
