Very few readers wrote about the exorbitant registration tax on new and used cars following an investigation by the EU on the issue of used cars. Hunting is obviously more important as the paper run on this issue is quite impressive.
I wonder if they ever compare local prices with adverts in all European countries for both new and used machines? Is it because people already know or expect that the government's reply within two months will let everybody down? I hope everybody knows that we have a right to work in any other EU country, purchase property etc. So why do we have to accept to pay such high premiums for our cars when our pay is sometimes a fraction of an average EU citizen?
Maybe I am missing the point and everybody is considering the cost of their car as reasonable compared to what they are earning. God bless us, we are fine thank you.
