A conference for sustainable urban transport systems is being held today and tomorrow.

Organised by the Urban Development and Roads Ministry together with the Malta Transport Authority, the conference is part financed by the European Union Action Programme Interreg IIIC and the project Pagus.

Participants will take part in study visits and share professional knowledge, and discuss current trends and regeneration practices.

The conference aims to develop the theme of ecologically-friendly and cleaner cities and the more holistic approach of transit-orientated development.

In a promotional leaflet, the ministry says the island is developing its transit-orientated development policy in line with the benchmarks set by EU member states.
