A conference on shared memories among Malta, France and Tunisia was organised by Vicki Ann Cremona, the Maltese Ambassador to France, together with the French-Maltese Society Société Maltaise de France in Paris.

The conference was held at the University of Paris. Dauphine, one of the leading French schools of management, under the patronage of Foreign Minister Michael Frendo on March 24.

In the opening speech, Elyes Jouini, the university's vice president, renewed interest in signing an exchange and cooperation agreement with the University of Malta.

Dr Cremona spoke about the campaign, launched by the Société Maltaise de France, to celebrate the memory of Maltese immigrants who fought in the two world wars in the defence of France's territorial integrity.

More and more French citizens of Maltese origin, she added, were sending their registration forms to the embassy and thanks to this, the embassy's database has grown considerably.
