Extras on a vast range of Opel cars are up for grabs at no extra cost during the Motor Fair, which ends today at the Trade Fair Grounds, Naxxar.

Opel have a comprehensive range of cars on display to meet every need, utility and whim. These include Opel Corsa (Essentia Plus and Enjoy Plus both in the three- and five-door versions), the Astra GTC, five-door, station wagon and Twin Top, the Zafira and the Meriva, which has achieved the lowest defect rate in the TÜV report 2007.

These models will be enhanced with extras that come at no extra cost, over and above the other accessories that usually come with the cars. Extras vary from a mix of engine upgrades, alarm systems, alloy wheels and metallic finishes, to safety active headrests, light and rain sensors, wind deflectors, rear roof spoilers, power folding mirror and interiors with a unique surround sound system.

All other extra features, like solar wind shields, body kits and sunroofs will have a special discount.

Buyers who order their car up to next Saturday can save from Lm330 to Lm780, depending on the model. Prices are also slashed on the Opel Zafira and Meriva and other stock models.

According to the TÜV report faults were only found in 1.8 per cent of Merivas checked, while the industry average was 5.9 per cent.

"Our comprehensive quality initiative is clearly paying off," says Hans H. Demant, Opel managing director. "There is hardly a better indicator than this success achieved by one of our newest models.

"And the overall results for the Opel model range show that we are on the right track."

Compared to last year's results, almost all of Opel's models improved significantly in the TÜV report 2007, both in the rankings as well as the defect rate percentages. In addition to the Meriva, the Corsa, Vectra and Astra are all better positioned than the industry average. This puts all the models in the low defect rate category.

The significant progress shown in the TÜV report 2007 is the result of General Motors' global quality initiative. The important aspects of GM's integrated quality philosophy are standardised development and manufacturing processes.

Five principles are applied in all plants: people involvement, standardisation, built-in-quality, short lead time and continuous improvement.

United Automobile Ltd, local Opel agents, are also offering advantageous hire purchase terms with reduced interest rates, reduced finance charges and no administration charges. Part exchange may also be considered.
