The shortfall between recurrent revenue and total expenditure of the government for the first two months of the year amounted to Lm42.8 million, the National Statistics Office said yesterday.

Data from the Consolidated Fund for last month shows that the shortfall between recurrent revenue and total expenditure increased by Lm2.7 million. Recurrent revenue rose by Lm3.4 million and total expenditure increased by Lm6.1 million.

The government's debt outstanding at the end of last month amounted to Lm1,364.1 million, a drop of Lm28.9 million compared to the debt position at the end of February last year.
