Call for end to spring hunting

The Graffitti group believes the time has come for the government to shun political opportunism and halt hunting in spring once and for all.

The recent decision by the government to open the hunting season in spring will not only result in more environmental damage through the slaughtering of birds in their most vulnerable period, but also explicitly violates EU regulations, particularly the Birds Directive, it said.

Graffitti believes the European Union is justified in exerting pressure on the government to curb spring hunting, even through legal means.
