Adriano: Adriano's mother has taken the extraordinary step of revealing her son's future. "He is staying with Inter," she announced. The player has been paired with a move after his recent difficulties in Milan, with Fiorentina and several Spanish clubs keen on a summer swoop. However, his agent Gilmar Rinaldi denied the news and mummy Rosilda revealed all to the media yesterday. "He won't leave, Inter are a home for him and president Massimo Moratti was extraordinary when Adriano's father died," she stated.

Celtic: Motherwell have confirmed that Australian striker Scott McDonald will join Celtic at the end of the season. The deal is subject to the 23-year-old passing a medical and should be signed within the next few days. McDonald was disappointed to miss out on a January move to Rangers, who offered £400,000 on transfer deadline day. But Rangers were reportedly unwilling to match Celtic's bid, believed to be £700,000. McDonald has hit 12 goals in 34 appearances for Motherwell this season, including one against Celtic in October.

Lampard was set to play against Andorra yesterday but suffered a cracked bone and possible ligament damage in training on Monday. At first, Lampard was set to feature with his hand protected until it was discovered the injury is far worse than first thought. It is believed the damage was done after the 29-year-old got in the way of a Wayne Rooney shot.

Sissoko: Reports in Spain claim that Barcelona have included Liverpool's Mohamed Sissoko on a four-man shortlist as they look to strengthen their midfield. According to Catalan daily Sport, Barca are keen to recruit a ball-winning midfielder in the Edgar Davids mould in time for next season. Sporting director Txiki Begiristain has been charged with the task of bolstering Barca's options, and Sissoko, along with Valencia's David Albelda, Atletico Madrid's Peter Luccin and Yaya Toure, of Monaco, have all reportedly fallen under his gaze.

Pelè: Pelè, the player considered to be the 'greatest of all time', is in discussions over a feature film on the story of his life. Signed by the William Morris Agency, the Brazilian legend will discuss with major studios and financiers the possibility of developing the film in the near future. "We are in the process of discussing this with Pelè," said Philip Button, WMA's vice president of global sports and entertainment. Pelè's life is ripe for cinematic treatment and he won three World Cups with Brazil in 1958, 1962 and 1970, as well as being named Footballer of the Century by FIFA.

Laursen: Aston Villa central defender Martin Laursen is set to return to action in Monday's home Premiership clash with Everton. The Denmark international has missed the home clashes against Arsenal and Liverpool with a hamstring injury but has now returned to training. "Martin trained on Monday and Tuesday. We stepped up the training on Tuesday and he wouldn't be out there with us if he couldn't do most things,' Villa manager Martin O'Neill said yesterday.
