Guilty plea in drugs importation case

A Briton yesterday confessed to importing ecstasy and cannabis, insisting the drugs were for his personal use. Steven Charles Bartram, 50, was charged with importing the drugs and with the possession of the ecstasy and cannabis with the intent to sell.

A Briton yesterday confessed to importing ecstasy and cannabis, insisting the drugs were for his personal use.

Steven Charles Bartram, 50, was charged with importing the drugs and with the possession of the ecstasy and cannabis with the intent to sell. Mr Bartram pleaded guilty to importing the drugs but said they were for his personal use, that is, he never intended to sell drugs.

He was remanded in police custody.

Police Inspector Victor Aquilina prosecuted.
