I'm sure that by now everyone knows that those travelling to Rome for the canonisation ceremony of Dun Gorg Preca have been exempted from paying the airport departure tax.
Of course, those travelling on the same day for any other reason will have to pay it! How can such a discriminatory decision ever be ethically justified? Why haven't the authorities opted for a more civilised gesture to mark this occasion, such as donating the additional departure tax revenue to worthy causes?
