Bare walls, corridors, utility rooms and porches of institutional homes around Malta were given a new look by volunteers from seven major companies in this year's Corporate Social Responsibility Day organised for the sixth consecutive year by the HSBC Cares For Children Fund (HCCF).

On March 19, employees of HSBC, Gasan Group, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc, Mizzi Organisation, Vodafone Malta Ltd, M. Demajo Group and Middle Sea Group gave up their public holiday to help various homes around Malta with odd jobs and maintenance work.

The volunteers were visited by President Eddie Fenech Adami, Archbishop Paul Cremona and Catherine Gonzi, chairman of the HCCF.

Corinthia Hotels International chipped in by donating funds. Support for the activity was also given by Papillon Caterers, Serracino's Café, Domemen Gloves, Tower Ironmongery and BPC International.
