A neutering campaign for stray dogs, funded by ITV Grenzenlos of Germany, and launched by Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary in June 2006, has come to a successful conclusion, the sanctuary said yesterday.

ITV Grenzenlos contributed €15,000 and a total of 310 dogs were neutered with the cooperation of the Malta Veterinary Association.

The neutering vouchers were utilised by Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary - 58; Association of Abandoned Animals - 126; Island Sanctuary - 30; SPCA Gozo - 20; R. Scicluna - 39; M. Magrin - nine and various others - 18.

Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary said it would continue to support fellow rescue non-governmental organisations whenever and wherever possible.

About 120 dogs are cared for at their sanctuary in Paradise Bay, tel. 7973 0900.
