Eddie Aquilina's Talking Point entitled On Balance (March 22) raises two issues. The first relates to spring hunting. In his article he attempted to brand Alternattiva Demokratika as extremists on the hunting issue. He is at full liberty to hold this opinion, politically motivated as it is. However, to be fair, he must also concede that the European Commission generally, and Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas specifically, are equally extremists, since they also hold our position on this matter. Secondly I cannot understand why Mr Aquilina has gone to such lengths, in the same article, to interpret AD's electoral results in the local council elections. Why the hassle, if his beloved PN is going to win the coming general election anyway? Doesn't he believe the Prime Minister's promise that the PN will win the election? Isn't Lawrence Gonzi even able to convince his die-hards any more; not even, Eddie, the bluest of the blues?
