It seems that sundry PN supporters have taken it upon themselves to try and belittle AD's very positive results in the last round of local council elections.
The latest claim by Eddie Aquilina that "most independent candidates actually did better than AD" is so preposterous that I cannot remain silent in the face of such a barefaced untruth.
The facts of these elections are clear. AD retained its seat in Swieqi with 10 per cent of the vote and won a seat from the PN in Attard by gaining nearly 10 per cent of the vote there. In Munxar, AD won 11.7 per cent of the vote, failing to get elected by literally two votes, while the PN lost over 12 per cent of its vote share in this locality.
In the seven localities where it contested, AD achieved an average of 6.5 per cent of the vote.
These are the facts which the PN seems to want to hide. The spate of letters trying to misinterpret and belittle AD's positive result are a very obvious spin campaign which are an insult to the numerous voters who have had the courage to vote for change by voting for AD.
