Earthrace, the bio-diesel fuelled powerboat that will be stopping in Malta in its attempt to circumnavigate the world, was involved in a collision with a boat.

The incident with a small Guatemalan fishing vessel, occurred at 12.30 a.m. on March 17. The incident involved a fibreglass fishing vessel off the coast of Guatemala. In the incident, one fisherman was lost, presumed drowned, and another was seriously injured.

This mishap is expected to delay the world record attempt and the Malta visit, planned for mid-April. The Maltese visit is being coordinated by local bio-diesel producers EORC.
