In reply to Alan Camillieri's article Successfully Fair (March 14), where he said 3,600 organisations applied to join Fair and so far 628 have been awarded the Fair trust, it will take 5.75 months to accommodate all the applicants at this rate. As owner of an outlet, I applied to join Fair in December 2006. I was told someone from the department will call at the end of January 2007. To date we are still waiting, notwithstanding the umpteen telephone call to 154, consoling us that we are on their list.

It is an insult to shop owners like me to see printed full pages of shops that are already in Fair, while we are still waiting to be honoured. This is unfair competition, what will our customers think when we are not on that list?
