YMCA homeless is a care-giving NGO, which offers broad services to people in need. YMCA organises activities for children and youths, provides a drop-in centre where people avail themselves of free social work services and other specialised services.

YMCA Homeless also provides shelter for homeless people who seek a roof over their heads to live in safety and dignity. At the moment, the shelter is home to 23 residents, ranging from a toddler to a 75-year-old couple. We also have several social cases (on average over 25 cases per day) presented at our drop-in centre with several problems including poverty, inadequate housing, domestic violence, child abuse and illiteracy.

It is for us to keep on helping these people without having other generous entities help us and without various fund-raising events we organise to help with some expenses.

We are in the process of furnishing a home for one of our homeless families. Through donations we have managed to obtain much of the furniture and appliances, however we still do not have everything that this family needs to live adequately. We would like to appeal to anyone who can donate a fridge/freezer that this family can use.

May we also appeal to anyone wishing to donate other items, like toys and books.

Anyone wishing to help YMCA Homeless should contact our drop-in centre on tel. 2124-0680 or e-mail: info@ymcahomeless.org.
