Rachel Smith, a student photographer from the London University of the Arts, is in Gozo till the first week of April. She is studying the importance of the Ggantija Temples and their connection with women. To illustrate this in the contemporary world, she will be photographing local women, particularly mothers and daughters, within the temples.

She is working with Heritage Malta and has arranged for free access for the women who will be involved. She has been delighted with the response so far and would like to thank the mayor of Xaghra and his family for their assistance.

The photographs will be exhibited in London as part of her final year's work. She would also like to exhibit them on Gozo if the participants agree, and she will provide all the women that take part with a free copy of their portraits. Anyone interested may contact Rachel by e-mail at r.smith22@lcc.arts.ac.uk.
