• The feast of the Annunciation is being celebrated at the chapel in Lunzjata valley, Victoria, today. There will be Mass on the hour every hour between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Bishop Nikol Cauchi will concelebrate Mass at 7 p.m., followed by a Eucharistic function led by Mgr Gregory Grech.

• The Friends of the Sick and the Elderly in Gozo are holding a car boot sale in Marsalforn car park today from 8 a.m.

• A bazaar in aid of Xaghra parish church is being held today at the shop by the church, today from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Figolli, honey rings, traditional Easter savouries and other Gozitan Easter delights will be on sale.

• The Eden Foundation (Gozo) is holding an art and antique furniture exhibition from today to April 15 between 10 a.m. and 6.45 p.m.

• The film Open Season shows at Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m.

• The Gozo International Ce-lebration - Easter edition, an ecumenical, socio-cultural event, with the theme "He is risen", is being held for the fifth time at Qala parish church today between 6.30 and 8 p.m. The event is being held to welcome all foreigners residing in or visiting Gozo.

• Members of all professions in Gozo are invited to a series of four Lenton sermons led by Canon Daniel Xerri, organised by the Diocesan Commission, at St Augustine church from tomorrow to Thursday at 8.30 p.m.

• The Science Centre Department for Curriculum Management, in collaboration with the Gozo College, is organising Home-SCI-Home, activities on how science forms part of daily life. The activities are taking place in Ta' Menzja farmhouse, Triq Bullara, Xaghra, between Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 6.30 p.m. The event is being launched tomorrow at 1 p.m.

The farmhouse will be open for school visits between 8.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m.

• An exhibition on health and safety is being held at the sports complex in Victoria from Wednesday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. The exhibition will include stands by various entities, charts by students from the Gozo College, demonstrations by non-profit organisations, workshops run by secondary school students and PowerPoint presentations.

• Bishop Mario Grech will be delivering an oration at the Circolo Gozitano on Thursday at 8.30 p.m. He will talk on the process of spiritual renewal that the faithful should undergo in preparation for Easter. This will be the Bishop's first official visit to the Circolo since his appointment. The public is invited to attend.

• Activities on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows at St James church, Victoria, on Friday: Mass every half hour between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. Bishop Grech will celebrate Mass on the church parvis, after which he will lead a Penitential procession, with the statue of to Our Lady of Sorrows, in the main streets of Victoria. On re-entry of the statue into the church, the Ave Maria will be sung and Sacramental Blessing will be imparted.

• The Cultural Council is marking Freedom Day on Saturday at 11 a.m. with a ceremony, presided over by Minister Giovanna Debono, at Independence Square, Victoria, with the participation of the Police band.

• High tea in aid of missionaries in Brazil will be held at St Augustine Convent, Victoria, on Saturday at 6.30 p.m. Tickets at Lm1.25 are available from the convent.

• Catechism for young people, led by Bishop Grech, is being held at the Heart of Jesus Seminary, Victoria, on Saturday at 8.30 p.m.

• The Victoria council is holding an annual general meeting at the council's administrative premises on Monday, April 9, at 7 p.m. All are invited to attend.
