Non-academic staff at the Malta College for Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) will be working-to-rule as from Monday, following a directive by the Union Haddiema Maghqudin.

The union said it is resorting to such action because of the management's inertia over a wage and benefits package for employees for 2005- 2010.

Employees will not take phone calls, handle faxes or e-mails. Messengers will not carry bulky boxes.

The union said it had forwarded its proposals last March and the management had to come up with counter proposals by January 15. Not only has the deadline not been met but two meetings, which were to take place over the past weeks, were cancelled by MCAST, the union added.
