Tickets for the National Orchestra concert celebrating the EU's 50th birthday on April 3 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, in Valletta, cost Lm12, Lm10, Lm8 and Lm6 (VAT included), the National Orchestra said yesterday.
The concert, featuring Ludwig Van Beethoven's 9th Symphony, was announced at a press conference at the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday. Having requested the information from the Foreign Ministry - which is organising the event - The Times reported yesterday that the tickets cost Lm5.
However, the National Orchestra pointed out yesterday that the Lm5 figure quoted in The Times was incorrect. It added: "Only a limited number of tickets at a discounted price will be made available to students and senior citizens on a first-come-first-served basis."
The concert is sponsored by Bank of Valletta, the German Embassy and a number of German companies in Malta.
