Sta Venera mayor Stephen Sultana deems a Lm2,700 reduction in the council's budget this year to be another obstacle by the central government.

Mr Sultana said the council's budget had been cut from Lm125,516 to Lm122,816, even though the council's responsibility and costs had increased.

The mayor said the Sta Venera council was the only one in Malta to regulate its financial position within just 11 months, which meant that the budget cut had been an injustice.
