While I heartily agree with Paul Tonna's letter titled Pharmacy Of Your Choice (March 12) regarding the long coming reform concerning the distribution of drugs from local pharmacies, I wish to point out that I made precisely the same points in this newspaper several times.

I too suggested that the new system should be optional, at least in the introduction stage. I would not mind paying for a far more convenient service. I too pointed out that such a system would improve the service all-round because there will be less pressure on the existing government pharmacies.

In my case, it takes me a whole morning of bus travel to get to Mosta from Attard and return home via Valletta. Promises and more promises later, the same situation persists. It is just another empty promise about public transport reform, which this administration is proving itself utterly incapable to realise. Everything considered, it is hardly surprising that people are becoming increasingly disillusioned with a tired and indifferent Cabinet which thinks it can carry on making vain promises without ultimately being taken to task.

I reiterate the PN is the party which I trust with the big national issues, however it is failing dismally in retaining the support of people who believe that a promise is a debt to be honourably kept, as a series of local election results are eloquently showing.
