Security breaches: Spain's Anti-violence commission have recommended Osasuna and Espanyol be fined 6,000 and 4,000 euros respectively for security breaches at their stadiums, for failing to prevent fans from bringing in and lighting flares. The incidents occurred during last week's UEFA Cup ties against Rangers and Maccabi Haifa.

Lehmann: Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann still refuses to be drawn on whether he will accept the offer of a one-year contract extension with the London club or seek a longer deal elsewhere. "I have to make a decision at some point but there is no fixed date," the 37-year-old Lehmann said at a news conference. "I don't want to say anything about it. I'm linked with a new club every week...while everybody knows I am also happy at Arsenal."

Foreign officials: The Romanian Central Referees Commission (CCA) has decided to call in foreign officials for the local derbies involving Bucharest teams Steaua, Rapid and Dinamo. "We want to remove any suspicion over possible arrangements," CCA head Gheorghe Constantin told reporters, without giving details of the proposed referees names or nationality.

Mido: Tottenham Hotspur striker Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam has been left out of a 23-man squad named by Egypt coach Hassan Shehata for the weekend's African Nations Cup qualifier against Mauritania. Mido sustained an ankle injury during his team's 3-1 win over Watford in the English premier league on Saturday, the Egypt Football Association said.

Petrov: Former Bulgaria skipper Stilian Petrov said he is happy to return to the national side even if he will not wear the captain's armband. The combative Aston Villa midfielder quit the national team last October, since when Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov has been the captain. "I didn't return to fight for being a captain," Petrov said as he looked forward to ending his self-exposed international exile in the Euro 2008 qualifier next Wednesday against Albania. "I wouldn't be angry if someone else takes the responsibility."

Linderoth: Sweden midfielder Tobias Linderoth will miss the Euro 2008 Group F qualifying match away to Northern Ireland on March 28 because of a thigh injury. "I did two training sessions today, one with the ball and a running session, but my muscles are tender and I will not be ready in time for Northern Ireland," the FC Copenhagen player said.

Quashie: Midfielder Nigel Quashie has withdrawn from the Scotland squad with a foot injury ahead of their Euro 2008 qualifier with Georgia on Saturday. He arrived with stitches in his left foot and a Scottish FA spokesman said: "He was assessed by the team doctors today and has been allowed to return to his club, West Ham. Nobody has been brought into the squad at this stage."

In England: League One - Chesterfield vs Doncaster 1-1.

In Scotland: Division Three - East Fife vs Dumbarton 1-0.
