The Union Haddiema Maghqudin has set an ultimatum for March 31 and is threatening to resort to industrial action unless it receives an official proposal for the revision in salaries for court marshals.
The union said the marshals' last pay review took place 10 years ago and it has been trying to negotiate on their behalf for far too long.
It said shortage of employees in the Gozo court was also unacceptable and no replacements were made for the eight people who had left over the past few years. This was leading to stress and could also cause accidents at the workplace, the UHM said. The union said the March 31 deadline applied there too and industrial action would be ordered.
