Ndubisi Chukunyere was yesterday slapped with a one-match ban by the Malta FA Disciplinary Commissioner after the Hibs striker was reported for passing remarks to the match officials on his way back to the dressing rooms at the end of Saturday's Premier League match against Sliema Wanderers.

Against Sliema, Chukunyere was making his return from another suspension but will now have to sit out of the Paolites' next match against Birkirkara on March 31.

Two other Hibs players were also on the suspensions list yesterday - Edmond Agius and Andre Rocha da Silva.

Young midfielder Agius was red-carded very late in Saturday's match which Sliema won 2-1. Da Silva collected his fourth yellow card in the same match.

Birkirkara will play against Hibs without midfielder George Mallia who was also suspended for one match for his fourth booking.

Valletta will be looking to return to winning ways against Msida SJ on March 31 but the Citizens will have to do it without skipper Gilbert Agius. Yesterday, he was banned for one match along with Msida midfielder Paul Fenech.

Three Div. One matches at Hamrun on Sunday

The Malta FA announced yesterday that Sunday's Division One schedule will include three matches in a single venue at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

At first, there were four matches in programme on Sunday, two each at Hamrun and the Hibs Ground.

However, the Hamrun-Mqabba match was postponed to April 4 and the other match at the ground in Corradino, Naxxar Lions vs San Gwann, has now been shifted to the Tedesco Stadium with kick-off time set at 1 p.m.

Sunday's programme starts with the match between Vittoriosa and Tarxien at 9 a.m. This will be followed by Qormi-St Patrick at 11 a.m.
