Gilbert Arenas scored 30 points to lead the Washington Wizards past New Orleans Hornets 125-103 last weekend, earning the team sole possession of first place in the Southeast Division. Arenas missed Friday practice so he could witness the birth of his first son. Washington have now taken a half-game lead over defending NBA champions Miami Heat in the division.
