I refer to Joseph Briffa's letter Charity Workers (March 6).

All books accepted by the SPCA Bookshop in Floriana and the SPCA Charity Shop in Birkirkara are donated. All staff serving in these shops are volunteers and all monies made from the sale of these books are invoiced and accounted for daily. The said money is then sent to SPCA home, where it is checked again before being deposited in the SPCA account.
