The Seven Wonders of the World are being reviewed. Among the jewels being mentioned is Stonehenge.
I have worked, studied and painted the Maltese temples. In 2003, I was involved, even providing the choreography and dancers to perform under torch-light at Kordin III. This was on the initiative of Ms Linda C. Eneix from Sarasota, Florida, who organised this conference about "Exploring the Prehistoric Temple Culture".
One outstanding individual who addressed the conference was top archaeologist Dr David Trump who dotes on our heritage and, with other specialists in the field, presented a chart showing how we have the longest-standing man-made built temples in the world.
I tried to contact www.bbc.com on the matter and I was told that I needed seconding from a reporter or a specialist entity to support my nomination to promoting this jewel.
I appeal to Government, support groups, NGOs, Din L-Art Helwa, Heritage Malta and other entities who could support this nomination to come together and make our voice heard by logging on to the BBC Website.
Let us forget political colours just for this once and work together to improve our tourism and offer an added reason why more polished tourists (and there are many around) should visit our shores more often.
The closing date for nominations is July. Let us not leave it too late.
