Chorus Urbanus AGM

Chorus Urbanus recently held its annual general meeting at Sala Kaccatur, Marsalforn.

Secretary general George Borg opened the meeting by outlining major events such as the tour in Alsace, the world premiere of the oratorio Il Cuore di Cristo on the occasion of the unveiling of the national monument to Pope John Paul II, as well as the highly successful Christmas concert at the Astra Theatre with the participation of the National Orchestra.

Architect Edward Scerri, the incumbent president, thanked all the members for their effort and dedication - the key to the successes achieved by the choir. He encouraged members to continue to show the same enthusiasm to maintain the present level of quality and reputation.

Mro Galea outlined the choir's strengths, and indicated what can be further improved. He insisted that by always aiming high, one can guarantee that the standards may not only be maintained but also improved. He thanked all the members for their commitment and indicated that other ambitious projects were in the pipeline.

The president and general secretary were confirmed in their posts and a new committee was formed. A reception for all members was held after the meeting.
