Healthy lifestyle, healthy eating and lunchbox inspirations was the theme of an activity recently organised at St Theresa Junior Lyceum, Mriehel.

It consisted of a series of morning assemblies featuring PowerPoint presentations on the importance of physical activity and healthy eating; how to prepare healthy lunches for school; demonstrations of gymnastics, dance and movement by the students; and a fencing demonstration by Juan Formosa as an alternative means of physical activity.

Suzanne Piscopo delivered a very interesting and educational PowerPoint talk to both students and parents on nutrition and looking smart. She also stressed the importance of food labelling.

Scoops prepared pasta salads and fruit kebabs as an alternative snack, while cereal bars sponsored by Paolo Bonnici Ltd were also distributed to students. An exhibition of students' work regarding healthy lifestyle was held in the foyer consisting of projects and posters.

The activity was organised by a group of teachers from various subjects namely Physical Education, Home Economics, PSD as well as Scoops.

Head of school Robert Borg rounded off the activity with an address emphasising the importance of keeping healthy and taking care of our well-being. The activity has boosted our students' health awareness.
