Labour MEP John Attard Montalto has been approved by the European Parliament as a new member of its delegation for relations with Afghanistan.

This is one of the latest inter-parliamentary delegations established by the European Parliament. All MEPs are entitled to choose to become members of one of the 34 inter-parliamentary delegations set up between the European Parliament and the international community. In order to switch to the new delegation, Dr Attard Montalto renounced his membership of the delegation for relations with the Gulf States and Yemen.

Dr Attard Montalto is also a substitute member of the European Parliament's delegation to Australia and New Zealand.
