The 14th edition of the Cycling Tour of Malta includes teams from England, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Holland and teams from three local clubs.
The tour will be held between April 12 and 15.
The first stage will take place on April 12 on a 32-kilometre individual time trial along the coastline.
The second stage will be a 100/70-kilometre road race along the San Martin circuit. The third stage is an 85-kilometre road race along Ta' Pinellu circuit with the fourth and final stage being a one-hour ride. Launching the tour, Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech, said the government is doing its utmost to encourage cycling and is including cycling lanes in a number of roads.
The sports segment was one of the most important tourism niches. In fact, sports tourism attracts over 80,000 visitors annually, the minister added.
